Direct / Returning
Other / Unassigned
Taipei BJJ is an active gym with a real local community. The large majority of traffic is direct — returning readers, BJJ practitioners, and community members who follow the blog. Organic search is a smaller but real and growing layer on top of that existing base, up from 133 sessions in March to 202 so far in July.

About the Site
Taipei BJJ is a martial arts media site covering BJJ techniques, competition news, gear, and culture for the grappling community. The site has been live since October 2023. Before March 2026, the site had around 20 articles published over two-plus years.
Reading This Data Honestly
This is an active blog with a real readership. The 3,343 monthly sessions include a lot of direct traffic — people who know the gym, visit the site regularly to check schedules and gear, and bookmark it. That’s not search traffic; it’s community traffic, and it has grown substantially in its own right since the content push began.
The story we’re tracking is the organic layer on top of that: in the months before March 2026, organic sessions hovered near zero. After 334 articles were published, organic search climbed to 133 in March, 201 in April, dipped to 111 in May, then recovered to 159 in June and 202 so far in July — a real, if uneven, upward trend from Google search alone.
Why the Curve Is Uneven, and Why That’s Normal
Google typically takes 3–6 months to fully index, evaluate, and rank new content, and rankings don’t move in a straight line while that happens — May’s dip is a normal part of that process, not a reversal. The July number already exceeds June with over a week of the month still to go.
The content covers the full BJJ keyword universe: local training intent, gear, technique guides, and MMA/competition news — which is also why UFC event coverage shows up among the top organic landing pages alongside BJJ-specific content.
The Compound Effect
Taipei BJJ benefits from having an established domain history (Oct 2023) layered with fresh content. Google already knew the domain existed and had topical relevance in the martial arts space. The new content didn’t have to convince Google the site was legitimate — it just had to prove it had depth.
